The instrument is optimised for synthesis of primers no longer than 50 bases. However the software can handle longer sequences and the instrument is able to synthesise primers in lengths above the recommended maximum of 50 bases.

The instrument has been optimised for synthesis of primers for DNA sequencing projects and for DNA chips.
